Buy my photos

2009 May 20

We have started a new service here at Jessamine Journal headquarters that will allow anyone to go into our Web site and buy the photos that we’ve taken. This will be especially helpful for parents of local athletes who want good action shots of their kids in games.

What we had been doing was just fielding phone calls from people wanting to buy the photos, and we would burn it to a CD and charge $20 a pop for them to do whatever. Now you will have the option of getting different size prints, getting the photo on T-shirts and mugs or actually getting the rights to the photo to do whatever you need to do with it. A basic 4 x 6 print costs $4, and the price varies depending on what you buy. I have already uploaded photos from Asbury’s graduation and West Jessamine’s prom, and there are certain to be many more from there.

To go to our MyCapture Web site, visit (and bookmark!) http://amnews.mycapture.com/mycapture/index.asp. It has pictures up from our paper, the Danville Advocate and the Winchester Sun, so you already have tons of photos to choose from.

Cool, huh?

do you get royalties? or are they property of the paper?

There are rumors of “incentives” for photos sold, but nothing official yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Update: No commission on photos sold. They really make you feel appreciated around here.
