Dear Santa,
Every year, The Jessamine Journal does a Santa Letters promotion that invites elementary schools all over the county to have the students send in letters to Santa Claus telling him what they want for Christmas. It’s a great idea, and parents love it, but the job falls on us to sift through the handwriting, spelling and backwards e’s to figure out what in the world these kids are trying to say. Once we decipher the letters, however, they make for some interesting and sometimes hilarious letters. Knowing how much you all like funny correspondence, I saved a few of my favorites:
Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas this year is a toy horse, a toy doll, a stuffed animal, a toy dog that is fake but not real.
Love, Hannah

Dear Santa,
I have been very, very good this year! Well a little bit. I think. It was my brother Quinn who made me hit him it wasn’t my fault. So anyway what do you think the true meaning of Christmas is?
Sincerely, Rachel
Dear Santa Claus,
This year for Christmas I’d like a white Hummer with lots of chrome. I want a pair of handcuffs and a police paddy wagon, a blooped game, a gold chain, and a king of camelot action figure. I tried to be a good boy, but sometimes I got in trouble. Please leave me some dollars in my stocking I’ll leave you wings, and a cucumber for Rudolph.
Bruce
Dear Santa,

Love, Hannah N

Dear Santa,
Could you get me a picture of Rudolph? I have been good. I like the game you got me last year. On my list at home I wrote could you please get me a Wii? I forgot to say could you get me a picture of Rudolph and a Wii.

P.S. I am throwing out my list at home because I forgot about the Rudolph picture and Wii thing.

This one has got to be my favorite:
Dear Santa,
I have been very, very good this year! Well a little bit. I think. It was my brother Quinn who made me hit him it wasn’t my fault. So anyway what do you think the true meaning of Christmas is?

I guess this means Quinn gets added to the naughty list as well? Thanks for posting!
