Lee Rogers out at Asbury

I just heard from a reliable source tonight that Asbury baseball head coach Lee Rogers resigned after just one season. He was hired in Fall 2006 to revive the team after a five-year hiatus, and the new team went 18-25 including a 3-2 win over then-seventh-ranked Southern Poly State.

That will be a huge blow to the program, as Lee is an excellent recruiter and one of the best baseball minds in the state, plus he’s a great person — a guy who you want to have representing your school. I’ve known Lee since I was a kid, and if he felt the need to leave, there is a reason. I’ll try to get something from him tomorrow.
