Buddy Budd Blogs in Beijing

Excuse the blatant cheesy alliteration in the title, but that’s just something you learn in the ‘biz’. Other things you learn in the ‘biz’ include: how to weed out the one legitimate quote from a politician’s 25-minute soliloquy, when and when not to tell people you are with the newspaper and never — NEVER — to use the term ‘biz.’

Anyway, the sole purpose of this post is to promote unabashedly the latest blog on my blogroll. TJ Budd, a recent Asbury College graduate (and my old roommate) is blogging for The Journal from the Beijing Olympics. He is going with a bunch of other Asbury students to work for the Beijing Olympic Broadcasting company as a camera assistant. While he’s there, he’s going to chronicle some of his experiences in China and hopefully introduce us to some of the latest Black Market gadgets and illegally-downloaded movies (not really; don’t sue me).

He left this morning — it’s something like a million-hour plane ride, but with the time change, that puts us at about tomorrow, so check back then for his updates.
